Taft's interest in sports began at an early age, having been raised in a sports-oriented family. She competed on various levels in both school and college, but she made the decision to become a broadcaster. Taft started her career as a regional station and the sideline reporter at Fox Sports North, after earning a broadcast journalism degree from Boston University. In addition to reporting on sports, she also contributed to social networks as well as being an in-between host for a variety of games. When she began being employed by Fox Sports 1, her team comprised of News and Highlights, Taft was bumped. Taft was a reporter for FS1 who covered many famous events. Additionally, she worked as an official college sideline reporter. In the following years, Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt were appointed to lead the college football coverage. In 2018, she gained fame as she was chosen to be the moderator on The TV Show Skip and Shannon Undisputed. It's the same position she is still in to this day. In addition, she hosted her own program CFB: Inside Slant, and acted as the pit reporter in the Discovery Series Battlebots.
